Announcing the winners of the Fujairah International Arabic Calligraphy Competition

The Fujairah Fine Arts Academy announced the names of the first winners of the Fujairah International Arabic Calligraphy Competition, which was organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of the Academy of Trustees, with the participation of 114 calligraphers representing more than 26 countries in the world. The competition was held remotely via the Internet by sending the participants their plates to the website and the Academy’s accounts, where they were presented to a high-level jury, the performance of the participants was evaluated and the final results were approved with the addition of three appreciation awards. His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, emphasized the importance of the Fujairah International Competition for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy, in attracting calligraphers and talented people in the art of Arabic calligraphy and motivating them and encouraging them to creativity and distinguished production, indicating that a number of the paintings participating in the competition were characterized by a beautiful and artistic form. Concerning the results of the competition, the calligrapher Ali Mamdouh from Egypt won the first place, while the Iraqi calligrapher Karzan Abu Bakr won the second place, and the third place went to the Egyptian calligrapher Ahmed Al-Hawari, and the jury placed eight appreciation awards for the contest participants.
