Fujairah Arts reviews its practical experience at the Heritage and Oral History Conference
The Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts participated in the 11th Gulf Conference for Heritage and Oral History, organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi in Manarat Al Saadiyat, entitled “Popular Performing Arts in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Sustainable Development.”
His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Jafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, presented a scientific working paper about the Academy in which he reviewed the period of establishing the Academy as an independent scientific academy through Law No. (2) of 2017 issued by His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, in addition to To form a Board of Trustees for the Academy by a decision issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts.
Al-Hafiti pointed to the academy’s goals by creating an artistically educated generation, providing theoretical and practical educational services, refining them academically, and supporting them with all means that enable them to develop themselves and achieve their goals, in addition to providing high artistic content that keeps pace with developments in international music, pointing out that the educational curriculum in the academy depends on 75% of it is applied sciences, and 30% is theoretical sciences, as the curriculum combines teaching Arabic music and applying the Emirati artistic touch.
The Director of the Academy also touched on how to sustain the musical heritage in the UAE by codifying the country’s musical heritage within the best international musical standards, used in writing musical notes, and using Emirati maqams, in the Academy’s participation with the world’s leading casts in terms of musical composition and the development of musical phrases accompanied by Rhythm.
