This came while His Highness attended the conclusion of the activities of the training course in the art of mime, “Physical Expression,” organized by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, under the patronage of His Highness, in cooperation with the International Theater Corporation, at the Dibba Al-Fujairah Theater.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi praised the efforts of those in charge of holding this type of artistic courses that promote the advancement of the artistic cultural product, praising the role of the participants in the mime art course by preparing them academically for this type of art that embodies the language of physical expression.
The participants in the training course, supervised by Marko Stojanovic, President of the International Mime Art Organization, presented an expressive artistic painting that highlighted the stations of popular heritage and the authentic Emirati environment, in which the actors used their body language in a creative way.
His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Academy, and the course participants thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his constant support for the programs of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, which contribute to creating an artistic platform that encourages creativity for all its members.
The training course in the art of mime, which lasted ten days, covered a number of topics, the most important of which was what the theatrical character’s body looks like, how it moves and interacts, using gestures, facial expressions, and eye movement, and how all of this affects the theatrical character’s psychology.
It is worth noting that the art of the mime simulates the expressive and creative movement of the body. This art also receives great attention in the new media of the twenty-first century through its teaching to presenters of various programs, especially social programs.
The closing ceremony of the training course was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Dhanhani, Director of the Emiri Diwan in the Fujairah Government, and a number of officials in the emirate.
