The Academy participated in the activities of the Cairo International Forum for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, the Academy participated in the activities of the Cairo International Forum for the Art of Arabic Calligraphy, which is organized by the Cultural Development Fund of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Egyptian General Association for Arabic Calligraphy under the slogan “Teach by the Pen” at the Egyptian Opera House in Cairo.
The Fujairah Arts Academy delegation included Arabic calligraphy teachers Muhammad Abu Al Majd and Ahmed Adel, with participation from students: Abdullah Al Yamahi, Amna Al Kaabi, Sheikha Al Kayani, and from the Dibba branch, Muhammad Al Hammadi, Basma Al Dhanhani and Bashayer Al Dhahouri.
The academy’s participation was represented by 14 artistic paintings executed by the academy’s students, which dealt with various topics of Arabic calligraphy, while adding the spirit of contemporary art to them, especially through the use of colors in a number of paintings to add aesthetics and a distinctive dimension in form to the types of Arabic calligraphy.
Ali Obaid Al-Hafiti, Director General of the Academy, said: The Academy’s external participations contribute to strengthening ties in the field of arts with its various partners, and help the Academy’s members have direct contact with Arab and foreign artists and creators, explaining that the Academy’s strategy focuses on providing support by all means to its students, in implementation of the vision of the Academy. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi and representing the UAE in international forums in the field of fine arts.
Al-Hafiti stressed the importance of Emirati-Egyptian relations through organizing joint cultural and artistic projects, within the framework of consolidating the values of brotherhood and cooperation in various fields. He pointed out that the participation of the academy’s students in the Arabic Calligraphy Forum will open the way for them to get to know the most prominent Arab calligraphers and benefit from their experiences that help Refine their skills in various types of Arabic calligraphy, which consolidates our Arab and Islamic identity.
