The Fujairah Fine Arts Academy announced the names of the first winners of the Fujairah International Arabic Calligraphy Competition, which it organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Academy’s Board of Trustees, with the participation of more than 460 calligraphers representing 35 countries in the world.
The branches of the competition included the traditional calligraphy branch, which included the Thuluth Jali, Jali Diwani, Naskh, and Nastaliq scripts, in addition to participation in the decoration and gilding branch and the calligraphy branch. The Emirates Calligrapher Award was also allocated, which attracted calligraphers from the United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Academy, extended his highest thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, for his generous guidance and continuous support for all artistic activities held by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts.
The results of the competition resulted in the calligrapher Zahra Dosti Shanbarki winning the first place award in the decoration and gilding branch, while the calligrapher Vildan Sirt won second place, while the third place went to the calligrapher Amir Tahma Separzadeh Aghjaei, and in the Diwani Al-Jali calligraphy branch, the calligrapher Ahmad won first place. Bashir, the second place was the calligrapher Hoda Burnawadi, and the calligrapher Ahmed Raafat was in third place. As for the results of the Hurufiyyat Award, the calligrapher Aksem Talaa won first place, the second place was taken by Sayeda Sanaz Al-Barzi Durrah Raya, and the calligrapher Jaafar Ali Sarwa Hamba came in third place, and in the results of the Naskh calligraphy, the calligrapher Sirwan Ali came in first place.
