The United Arab Emirates, represented by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, won four artistic awards as part of its participation in the activities of the Alexandria International Theater Festival, through the theatrical performance “Shakespearean Diaries.”
The jury of the thirteenth session of the Alexandria International Theater Festival, “Theater Without Production,” announced today - Friday - the festival’s awards during the closing ceremony held at the Anfushi Culture Palace, where the Emirati theatrical show won first place in lighting, and the best actor in the first role won the prize. The second best artist was Mahmoud Al-Qattan, and the second best music was the artist Osama Ismail. The theatrical show also won the second best decoration, as part of a competition of 14 theatrical shows from 11 Arab and foreign countries.
His Excellency Ali Obaid Al Hafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, said: This great achievement of the Academy is a reflection of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, to support the artistic movement in the UAE and the Emirate of Fujairah, through... The Academy’s participation in Arab and foreign activities and events, which contributes to building bridges of communication between artists and establishes a new generation of young artistic cadres.
Al-Hafiti stressed that the academy’s participation reflects the extent of the great effort in promoting the concept of theatrical work, and creating a sustainable artistic environment that supports distinguished competencies and local talents, praising the wonderful organization of the 13th session of the Alexandria International Theater Festival (theatre without production).
In turn, the director of the theatrical show, Saeed Al-Harsh, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Fujairah Academy, for providing the opportunity to participate in the Cairo Theater Festival, which won four artistic awards at the festival, thanks to the brilliance of all participants in the work, in addition to the continuous support provided by the Academy throughout the period. It is worth noting that the delegation of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts was headed by His Excellency Ali Obaid Al-Hafiti, Director General of the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts, and included the artists Saeed Al-Harsh, the director of the theatrical show, Ahmed Abdullah Rashid, the preparer of the theatrical script, and the actors Abdullah Masoud, Mahmoud Al-Qattan, Abdullah Al-Khadeem, and Asmaa Al-Awfi, in addition to the supervisor. The technician for the theatrical work is Muhammad Makki, with the participation of composer Osama Ismail and production manager Ali Al Shehhi.
