Calligraphy Competition Third Edition Listed below are the rules and conditions for participating in the Fujairah International Arabic Calligraphy Competition, according to which the jury will evaluate the participating artworks. 1. Anyone may submit an Arabic
Calligraphy Artwork and take part in this competition if they abide to the listed rules & conditions stipulated in this guide 2. The contestant may participate in all branches of the competition if they wish to, provided that only one artwork
must be submitted in each branch of the competition, and if more than one artwork is
submitted in one branch the participation shall be cancelled. 3. The Jury has the right to withhold
awards if it deems that the participating works do not rise to the required
level and/or do not comply with the competition rules that adheres to the
Arabic Calligraphy Fundamentals. 4. Participants in this competition
acknowledge that they have accepted the conditions stated in this guide. 5. Prize & award winning works become
property of Fujairah Fine Arts Academy, and the Academy has the right to

in Thuluth Jali style 2- The contestant has complete freedom of choosing the appropriate template form to display the text, whether traditional templates or free formations as their layout, provided that they adhere to the ancient principles of Arabic calligraphy and do not deviate from the fundamental rules. 3-
In order to stimulate the creativity of participating artists, we must inform
you that the selection of
artworks during the sorting and evaluation process depends merely on the
ability of the participant to express the meanings behind the text and also on
the extent of harmony between the composition and its meaning. 4- The contestant has the freedom to choose the size of the writing pen, and it is permissible to use more than one size. 5- The text must be written exclusively on Arabic Calligraphy marbled paper (Muqahhar), with measurements 50 x 70 cm. 6-

Branch The rules & conditions: 1. The dimensions of the used paper should be 60 x 60 cm 2 Ornamentation should occupy
approximately 80% of the paper area. 3. The work is to be executed using
authentic Islamic ornamentation style, leaving room for the artist to create innovative
designs. 4. Original materials, colors, inks
and real gold only must be used in the execution. 5. Shell Gold must be used in the
right way. 6. You can be guided by the style of
classical ornamentation prevailing in the sixteenth century. 7. Do not leave any spaces for
writings, so that the final artwork is a stand-alone piece.
8. All types of paper are allowed. 9- Registration number must be written on the back of the submitted artwork CALLIGRAFFITTI The theme of the competition this edition expresses ‘’light’’ (as a meaning or
as one of the names of Allah Almighty) 1- Participating paintings must be original, not printed or copied. 2- The participant has the right to use any of the art
movements/styles. 3- Submitted artwork must be at least 150 cm x 150 cm in size 4- Submitted artwork can be square or rectangular, provided that the shortest side of the rectangle be 120 cm 5- Submitted artworks should be presented on treated canvas 6- The participant is free to use any type of materials and colors to execute the painting. 7- Participants may choose from the texts of the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Prophet, poetry, wisdom, or proverbs that are appropriate to add to their artwork. 8- The submitted artwork must be exclusive and have not previously been submitted or participated in any exhibition or art competition before. 9- Registration number must be written on the back of the submitted artwork EVALUATION PRINCIPLES The artwork submitted for the
competition will be evaluated on the basis and rules of traditional Arabic
calligraphy. Works that violate the concept of the correct phrase and do not consider the correct sequence of the text in the compositions, or
include any spelling errors, will not be accepted. The dots must be taken into
account; semicolon and letters must be in their correct positions. Paintings
that do not comply with these conditions regardless of their artistic value

FRANCESCO CIPOLLETTAFrancesco Cipolletta lives in Turin (Italy) where, at the age of seven, began his studies with the well-known Italian teacher Maria Golia. He graduated cum laude at the Conservatory “G.Verdi” of his city. He continued improving his technique with Lev Nikolaevic Naumov and with Maria Tipo at the famous School of Music in Fiesole. Since very young, he revealed both in National Competitions (he gained 20 First Prizes in many cities as Milan, Treviso, Florence, Taranto, La Spezia, Catanzaro, Stresa, Como and Albenga) and in prestigious International Competitions (“Busoni” in Bolzano, “Dino Ciani” in Milan, Pretoria in South Africa, “Viotti” in Vercelli, “Rina Sala Gallo” in Monza, European Piano Competition in Luxemburg). As a consequence of the great results gained in such important competition, he began an intense career which lead him in the main Italian cities (Turin, Milan, Rome, Bologna, Verona, Venice, Genova, Florence, Bari, Brescia, Como, Bergam and many others), and all around the world (Brussels, London, Munchen, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe, Wien, Strasburg, Paris, Luxemburg, Copenaghen, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Pretoria, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Sendai, Hong Kong, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Cleveland, Norfolk). He’s often invited for Piano Master Classes at the University of Pretoria South Africa, at Academy for Performing Arts Hong Kong and he is invited as a jury member in both in National and International Piano Competitions as PTNA competition in Tokyo. He is Full Professor of Piano at the State Conservatory of Music of Cuneo (Italy) GULMIRA ABDUKHALIKOVA Having graduated with high distinction from the Moscow state Tchaikovsky conservatory in piano performance, Gulmira is a professional pianist. In order to develop her talent as a pianist, she got the opportunity to work closely with some of the world’s greatest pianists. As part of her training, she was taught in the traditions of Heinrich Neuhaus School, one of the world’s most renowned schools for its pedagogical methods of teaching. After starting her career as concert pianist in Soviet Union, she quickly gained soloist status, being invited to play in European and Asian countries. As well as being a concert pianist, Gulmira has always had a passion for teaching. Many of her students have taken different prizes in the international piano competitions in Europe. She has conducted numerous master-classes in Russia, Italy, Spain, France and South Korea, Middle East. As a result of her support from the royal Al Saud family in Saudi Arabia, she established the Riyadh Music & Art Studio, where 500 students studied in classes. Having a deep interest in musicology and the history of music, Gulmira is collaborating with Geneva Conservatory, the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, Dhow Countries Music Academy in Zanzibar, Warsaw Music Academy, National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai, and others. Gulmira organizes outreach concerts, workshops and guest lectures, and works for partnership and cultural exchange projects with numerous UAE government education and cultural institutions, including the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), UAE Ministry of Culture & Youth and Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority. Yvonne Georgiadou, Artistic Director of The Pharos Arts Foundation A critically acclaimed pianist, Ilya Kondratiev is the prize-winner of several renowned international music competitions, including Franz Liszt Budapest 2011, Franz Liszt Weimar 2011, the Fifth Tbilisi 2013, Brant Birmingham 2015 and Chappell Gold Medal in 2016. Born in Russia, he studied from the age of seven in Samara with the distinguished teacher Victoria Soifer and, from the age of 16, at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with the People’s Artist of Russia Zinaida Ignatieva. In 2014 he moved to London in order to further his studies at the Royal College of Music under Vanessa Latarche and Sofia Gulyak, graduating with a Master of Performance and an Artist Diploma. Ilya performs extensively as a soloist and chamber music player at venues such as the Great Hall of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Gasteig Munich, Weimarhalle, Palacio de Festivales de Santander, the Palace of Arts in Budapest and the Great Hall of the Tbilisi Conservatoire. In 2011 Ilya was invited to work with Elisabeth Leonskaya at the Franz Liszt Piano Academy in Schilllingfurst, Germany and with Pavel Gililov at the Eppan Piano Academy in Italy. He has also worked with Dina Yoffe, Konstantin Shcherbakov, Willem Brons, Dmitry Bashkirov, Jerome Rose, Leslie Howard, Lang Lang and Arie Vardi. His repertoire is mostly based on classical and romantic music, but also includes many contemporary works. Recent performances featured Ilya performing all Beethoven violin sonatas. In various years Ilya was invited to different festivals such as 'Encuentro' Festival in Santander, Gumusluk Festival in Turkey, Beethoven Music Festival and Academy in Altaussee in Austria and New Millennium festival in Bulgaria.
